Martin Scorsese’s gangster classic tells the true story of Henry Hill, a half-Irish, half-Sicilian Brooklyn man who was adopted by neighbourhood gangsters at an early age and climbed the ranks of a Mafia family. At the centre of the film is an astonishing performance from Ray Liotta, whose captivating and explosive portrayal of Hill is thrillingly multifaceted and wide ranging. In his debut leading role in a feature film, occupying almost every frame, he more than holds his own opposite heavy weights Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.
