In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, a very special event will take place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle from 12th to 15th May.
With moments of humour, great theatricality, pomp and pageantry, this will be a spectacle like none other. Leading the narrative will be The Queen’s Players, a group of actors and artists especially brought together for the event and based on the travelling players of the Elizabethan period. With well-known actors and presenters a part of the troupe, the audience will be in safe hands as the show unfurls. The Celebration will see more than 500 horses and 1300 performers create a 90-minute piece of spellbinding arena theatre that will include actors and artists, musicians, international military displays from the Commonwealth, Europe and our own Armed Forces, dancers and global equestrian displays. Music will be arranged and composed for the Tri-Service Orchestra accompanied by members of the National Symphony Orchestra by Debbie Wiseman OBE, who has topped the Classical Charts with her album Kings and Queens. The Production is the fourth in a series of events hosted by Royal Windsor Horse Show which have covered the Golden Jubilee, the Diamond Jubilee and The Queen’s 90th Birthday, for which the same production company won a BAFTA. Well-known actors, artists and broadcasters perform each night and the music will be played live by a 60-piece orchestra, over 90 minutes and all beneath the lit ramparts of Windsor Castle. It will be light-hearted, respectful and, above all, a joyful show. The gallop through the story of Great Britain and the world will narrate history over five centuries and the Kings, Queens, significant events and the colourful people along the way. Above all, it will be a signal tribute to a monarch who means so much, to so many people all over the world. The Show incorporates entertainment for international and national military, equestrian and dance displays including The Garde Republicaine (France), The Oman Royal Cavalry, Azerbaijan – Land of Fire, The King’s Guard Norway, The Top Secret Drummers (Switzerland), The Band of the Royal Marines, The King’s Troop, The Household Cavalary Mounted Band and Musical Drive, The Academy Voices (Welsh Choir), Emerald Storm (northern Irish Dancers), The Edinburgh Tattoo Dance Troop, Massed Pipes and Drums, The Bollywood Company and Trinidad and Tobago Steel Band.
