Kew is getting lit up again this Christmas with the return of a whole load of light installations to the gardens.
Familiar faves that have formed part of the light trail for the past few years, like the Christmas Cathedral, Neon Night Garden, Fire Garden, Rainbow Tree Illumination, Singing Neon Trees, and Palm House projections, will all be back in action alongside some newbies for 2021. These include video design and projection mapping piece that uses trees from the arboretum to bring botanical illustrations from the Kew archives to life; a 15 metre wide dome, made up of over 2000 LED pixels, sitting on a reflective pool; and an Aurora Borealis-inspired installation illuminating the sky above Holly Walk. There'll be street food traders along the route so you can pick up a mulled wine and waffle to keep you warm on your way.
