To coincide with the Noguchi exhibition in the Art Gallery, a cloud of Akari light sculptures from the Japanese-American artist have been installed in the Barbican’s Conservatory. The washi paper and bamboo ribbing pieces have been suspended from the ceiling, hanging over the Koi carp ponds and rising up to the balconies, with the installation combining art and nature in one space.
The Conservatory is only open on select days, with time slots released a week in advance, so you’ll need to keep checking back for this one. Contact the concierge to register your interested in attending and to obtain complimentary tickets...
