Valentines Day Movie Date with the British Film Institute (February 14th)

The British Film Institute are screening 'Casablanca' and 'Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu (Portrait of a Lady on Fire)'. These screenings are in London at the BFI Southbank and is available to all members. Standard tickets for the movie are priced at £20 per person and we have an exclusive option for our members to enjoy a three-course meal for two and a glass of Prosecco at BFI Bar & Kitchen and see the movie for £80. Casablanca 
Screenings available at 2:30 PM & 6:15 PM on Valentines Day

Bogart and Bergman play former lovers, re-acquainted in 1942 at his club in Casablanca – a meeting place for military officers, the displaced and lowlifes. A couple of letters of transit that allow the bearer free passage around Nazi-occupied Europe fall into Rick’s possession, and with them come major challenges. With fizzing sexual chemistry between the two leads, Casablanca might just be the perfect Valentine’s film.

Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu (Portrait of a Lady on Fire)
Screenings available at 8:40 PM only, on Valentines Day

In 18th-century France, artist Marianne (Merlant) is commissioned to paint the portrait of Lady Héloïse (Haenel) so it can be sent to a suitor. However, her subject neither wants to be married nor painted, so Marianne is tasked with stealthily capturing Héloïse’s likeness while pretending to be her walking companion. Sciamma’s masterly film is a beautifully observed romance that burns with passion and defiance. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a French movie and this screening will display English subtitles throughout the screening.
