Disney+ has finally released the trailer for their upcoming comedy musical, Better Nate Than Ever. The newly released trailer makes quick work of setting a lighthearted and fun tone that is prevalent throughout the trailer.
The upcoming film stars newcomer Rueby Wood as the titular Nate Foster, a 13-year-old with big Broadway dreams. When a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presents itself, Wood’s Nate sneaks off to the Big Apple to chase his dreams. A chance encounter with his long-lost Aunt and Broadway actress turns his journey upside down. From the trailer, we know the film will hit familiar feel-good beats common in coming-of-age films. Nate is introduced as an awkward, unpopular but ambitious larger than life character who experiences several mishaps in the pursuit of his dreams. Despite a few setbacks his finds support in his best friend, aunt and brother. The trailer also features two original songs written for the film – "Big Time" sung by Wood, and #GoAwf sung by Wood and Aria Brooks, who plays Nate’s best friend – Libby. Better Nate Than Ever is based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Tim Federle which was released almost a decade ago, in 2013. The novel was inspired by the author’s own experience as a theater kid in a small town with Broadway dreams. Though the novel is widely appreciated as an ode to theater kids everywhere, the author has said the film is not just for theater kids but for everyone with big dreams. Besides Wood and Brooks, Better Nate Than Ever also stars Lisa Kudrow as Nate’s Aunt Heidi, and Joshua Bassett as his older brother. In an interesting move, the film reunites Federle and Bassett who currently stars in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which was created by Federle for Disney+. Other cast members of the film include Michelle Federer and Norbert Leo Butz. Better Nate Than Ever will be released on Disney+ on April 1st, 2022. The Official Red Carpet Premiere is scheduled to be held on the 13th of March at the El Capitan Theatre, L.A. Cast members such as Lisa Kudrow, Joshua Basset, Reuby Wood, Norbet Leo Butz, Michelle Federer and Suzanne Savoy are all expected to be in attendance. If you are interested in attending this event then please contact The Lexo Club Concierge and we would be delighted to assist... But responding to presenter Sandi Toksvig's mostly obscure questions in a funny or interesting way, regardless of whether the response includes a right answer, is what scores points. And points are deducted if answers merely repeat common misconceptions and urban myth. It's OK to be wrong, but don't be obviously, boringly wrong. Toksvig welcomes to each episode a four-person panel made up of comedians, writers and broadcasters, plus permanent guest Alan Davies.
The show is back for 2022 and we are inviting our members to join us live in the BBC Studios once again. The hit BAFTA nominated comedy series Q.I returns this February with Sandi Toksvig as Master of Ceremonies, and some of the biggest names in comedy! The French countryside is known for its romance and natural beauty, but how many people have seen it from the air? The Lexo Club invites you to take a glider flight over the French Alps with Klaus Ohlmann, the most successful glider pilot of all time, with 60 world records, also a four-time world champion.
This one-day adventure includes a private gliding session, where Klaus will take a guest into his Stemme Motor Glider, a masterfully built machine that surfs on the wind like an airborne Ferrari. Cruising at speeds up to 250 km/h at altitudes of 6000 m, guests will fly over the French Alps and take in views of snow-tipped mountains, lakes, waterfalls and forests, and even catch a glimpse of Mt. Blanc. Finish the day back on the ground with a private dinner at Chateau des Marres, where travelers can relive the adventure of the day while sipping Rose and taking in views of the Mediterranean. Klaus is a six-time world champion and, with over 60 world records, the most successful glider pilot of all time. He runs his own mountain flying school "Quo Vadis" in southern France. He has specialized in long range and high altitude flights and is holder of the FAI glider world record for the langest free distance of 3009 kms uninterrupted flight, and also is the first person to fly over Mount Everest in a glider. His world record for the fastest ever speed reached in a glider of 307 km/h remains unbroken in a decade. He has perfected the art of 'wave riding' in a glider, a specific skill in catching updrafts in the jetstream in order to fly long distances. In 1998 he founded Mountain-Wave-Project, a research facility with the aim to make gliding more visible in an exciting contrast between science, adventure, spectacular landscapes and records. He has also been involved as a pilot in electric airplanes and is an ambassador for renewable energies used in aircraft. In 2014 he was the chief pilot of a German Aerospace scientific mission to the Himalayas, taking high tech cameras to high altitude and obtaining spectacular high-resolution 3D images of Mount Everest. Klaus is also an author, filmmaker and an inspiring professional speaker. His exciting lectures are presented in German, English, French or Spanish. He lives with his wife and two children in his home in the French Southern Alps At the age of 46, happy-go-lucky crane operator and all-round lovable family man Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance) feels it’s time to try his hand at something new. But Maurice is not a man to do things by halves, and in a turn of events that you just couldn’t make up, he secures a coveted spot in the qualifying round of the 1976 British Open. With the enduring support of his loving wife and disco-dancing sons, Maurice borrows some books, buys the clobber and gets hold of a set of clubs. There’s only one problem; he has never played a round in his life.
Adapted by Simon Farnaby from his book ’The Phantom of The Open: Maurice Flitcroft, the World’s Worst Golfer’ (co-written by Scott Murray), Craig Roberts’ film is a heartfelt celebration of an eternal optimist who never let his sporting inadequacies stand in the way of his dreams. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. All hail the underdog! Tickets are priced at £35 per person. This preview screening takes place at Southbank in London. A revelatory new take on art in Britain after the Second World War, a period when artists had to make sense of an entirely altered world.
Postwar Modern explores the art produced in Britain in the wake of a cataclysmic war. Certainty was gone, and the aftershocks continued, but there was also hope for a better tomorrow. These conditions gave rise to an incredible richness of imagery, forms and materials in the years that followed. Focusing on ‘the new’, Postwar Modern features 48 artists and around 200 works of painting, sculpture, photography, collage and installation. It explores the subjects that most preoccupied artists, among them the body, the post-atomic condition, the Blitzed streetscape, private relationships and imagined future horizons. As well as reconsidering well-known figures, the exhibition foregrounds artists who came to Britain as refugees from Nazism or as migrants from a crumbling empire, in addition to female artists who have tended to be overlooked. Opening times: Sun-Wed 10am-6pm (last entry 5pm), Thu-Sat 10am-8pm (last entry 7pm), Good Friday 12-8pm (last entry 7pm), Easter Monday 12-6pm (last entry 5pm), May Bank Holiday 2 May 12-6pm (last entry 5pm) and Jubilee Bank Holiday 3 Jun 12-8pm (last entry 7pm). Tickets are priced at £18 per person. Please do not hesitate to contact The Lexo Club Concierge for more information or to request tickets for this spectacular art exhibition in London...
