Join BAFTA award-winning Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, To Walk Invisible) for an exclusive Yorkshire preview of the second series of Gentleman Jack, her hit drama for BBC One and iPlayer.
Series creator and writer Sally will be joined by BAFTA award-winning Suranne Jones (Vigil, Doctor Foster, Save Me) and other cast at this Halifax premiere. Filmed in and around West Yorkshire, Gentleman Jack is a remarkable love story set in 1834 in the complex, changing world of Halifax - the cradle of the industrial revolution. All eyes are on Anne Lister and Ann Walker as they set up home together at Shibden Hall as wife and wife, determined to combine their estates and become a power couple. Anne Lister’s entrepreneurial spirit frightens the locals as much as what was considered to be her unconventional love life and, with Halifax on the brink of revolution, her refusal to keep a low profile becomes provocative and dangerous. Series two again uses the real life diaries of Anne Lister - part of which were written in code - as its source, with every part of Lister’s story based in historical fact and the five million words she wrote in her journals. Gentleman Jack has all the warmth, wit, and complexity that audiences have come to associate with Sally Wainwright’s writing, and at its heart is Anne's relationship with Ann Walker. Following the screening hear direct from Sally Wainwright, Suranne Jones and other cast as they take audience questions in a live Q&A. If you are interested in this event then please be sure to contact The Lexo Club Concierge for more information or to make a booking. This screening premiere is taking place in Yorkshire and organised by the BBC. But responding to presenter Sandi Toksvig's mostly obscure questions in a funny or interesting way, regardless of whether the response includes a right answer, is what scores points. And points are deducted if answers merely repeat common misconceptions and urban myth. It's OK to be wrong, but don't be obviously, boringly wrong. Toksvig welcomes to each episode a four-person panel made up of comedians, writers and broadcasters, plus permanent guest Alan Davies.
The show is back for 2022 and we are inviting our members to join us live in the BBC Studios once again. The hit BAFTA nominated comedy series Q.I returns this February with Sandi Toksvig as Master of Ceremonies, and some of the biggest names in comedy! Please contact The Lexo Club Concierge for more information or to request your complimentary tickets... Come and celebrate London’s St Patrick’s Day Festival on Sunday 13 March in Trafalgar Square. There’ll be the best of Irish arts, culture, food, music to enjoy, and more, including the spectacular annual parade.

St Patrick’s Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the enduring strength of relationship between the British and Irish. The parade starts at Hyde Park Corner, then travels through Piccadilly, St James’s Street, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street and Whitehall. The action then moves to Trafalgar Square where your host Gemma Bradley will introduce a world-class line-up, in partnership with London Irish Centre. Expect family concerts, storytelling, children’s films and youth performances, as well community choirs, schools, dance troupes and a singalong finale. Alongside the main stage, International Chef of the Year 2019, Anna Haugh will be running food demos. There’ll also be children’s workshops featuring camogie games, medal making and face painting, and a great selection of food and drinks stalls. He stages cool fashion stories with a complex, condensed atmosphere and presents both fashion and bodies in an almost sculptural way.
“The subject of personal identity has always been an ongoing conversation in my personal life, and through photography, I’m able to capture and explore this dialogue. I like to shoot narrative portraits & video, placing people in costumes and situations that either compliment, validate, or disassemble their public or personal persona". The love for fashion, film and the human form is evident in Koshoni’s artwork, which integrates identity, personality and the body aesthetic. Taking an intimate approach to his subjects, his photography celebrates personal narratives whilst creating images that draw the audience into this visual journey. After honing his craft at St Martins, London, Koshoni has released a number of books celebrating the art of portraiture, in addition to directing music videos for EMI and Sony Records along with a wide range of commercials and television programs.
