The Hayward Gallery is hosting the first major retrospective on Louise Bourgeois that focuses on her fabric and textile works. During the last two decades of her career Bourgeois started to use textiles, including clothes, linens and tapestries, many from her personal history, into her art.
The resulting installations, sculptures and collages explore themes of sexuality, family, identity, trauma, and memory, topics that she had been interrogating throughout her life. The exhibition will include many pieces that haven’t been shown in the UK before as well as one of her signature spider sculptures. If you are interested in attending this exhibition then please contact The Lexo Club Concierge for more information... Van Gogh. Self-Portraits takes as its springboard Van Gogh’s iconic Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear, one of the most celebrated works in The Courtauld’s collection, and will bring together around half of the self-portraits Van Gogh created during his short years as a painter.
This will be the first time that the full span of Van Gogh’s self-portraiture has been explored in an exhibition. Several works in the exhibition were last together in Van Gogh’s studio and have never been reunited, until now. An outstanding selection of 16 self-portraits will be brought together to trace the evolution of Van Gogh’s self representation, from his early Self-Portrait with a Dark Felt Hat, created in 1886 during his formative period in Paris, to Self-Portrait with a Palette, painted at the asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in September 1889, one of his last self-portraits before his death in 1890. The myth of Van Gogh today is linked as much to his extraordinary life as it is to his stunning paintings. This exhibition will allow both aspects to be explored. Just when you thought light festival season was coming to an end, London pulls another glowing rabbit out of its hat in the form of Enfield Winter Lights. Host: Justin Johnson - Lead Programmer, BFI If you are interested in attending this exclusive event then please do not hesitate to contact The Lexo Club Concierge for more information and to make a booking... The Lexo Club are proud to be able to have first offered you access to an extremely exclusive preview screening of 'The Duke', but are delighted to now be offering you access to the UK Red Carpet Premiere of the movie.

It will also be the first red carpet premiere to take place post Covid restrictions. The main cast members; Helen Mirren, Jim Broadbent, Heather Craney, Stephen Rashrook, and others are expected to all be in attendance. The film is set in 1961, where a 60 year old taxi driver stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. It was the first (and remains the only) theft in the Gallery’s history. What happened next became the stuff of legend. Tickets are priced at £690 + VAT per person and are limited so please get in touch as soon as possible. The Saatchi Gallery’s new exhibition takes its name from a project devised by the photographic co-op Magnum Photos back in 1969. Fresh off the back of Nixon’s election, a group including Bruce Davidson and Mary Ellen Mark set out to document a time of upheaval, protest and social inequality. This exhibition brings together some of those original images alongside new photos taken by a host of contemporary photographers including Balazs Gardi and Zora J Murff, holding up a mirror to the America of 50 years ago.
You’d hope that this half-century gap would offer an opportunity to see what’s changed in that time, but the images unwaveringly show how much has stayed the same, if not worsened. We see the same towns and families held back by poverty; racial inequality continuing to streak through issues as diverse as climate change, education and home ownership; and continued clashes between people and state. The exhibition frequently returns to the idea of the American Dream, with the sombre recognition that, despite the efforts of many Americans in the 60s, their dreams still haven’t come true. The young Black freedom marcher bearing an American flag in 1965 is displayed in the same room as photos from the BLM movement in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. In a photo so symbolic it’s hard to believe it wasn’t staged, a 60s anti-war protester holds up a chrysanthemum to a wall of National Guard soldiers. Fast forward to the present day, and there are riot police entering the fray amidst plumes of smoke, and Trump supporters storming the seat of democracy itself. America in Crisis runs at the Saatchi Gallery until 3rd April. Tickets can be booked on their website directly or by requesting them from The Lexo Club Concierge at any time. Clapton spot P. Inspired by ethnomusicologist and song collector Alan Lomax, Luke Lewis’ The Echoes Return Slow sparks a conversation between distant lost voices and our collective presents. Using special speech transcription software to draw out the natural musical cadences of historic recordings of speech, and map them into melody, this innovative process tells the sometimes sad, sometimes jovial songs and tales of old miners, speaking of national identity, striking for better pay and conditions, unemployment, gender roles, language and culture; all themes as relevant today as they were fifty or a hundred years ago.
Alicia Jane Turner’s Tell me when you get home is a theatrical and sensory piece for solo soprano and ensemble that explores gendered experiences of walking alone at night. The immersive staging, influenced by Turner’s background in sound and lighting design, incorporates elements of patriarchal representations of femininity in mythology and horror to take us on a subversive journey into our fear of the dark. Each composer will join us on-stage to discuss the musical ideas behind their work, and how they’ve been influenced by issues affecting society today. Luke Lewis will join us for the pre-concert talk at 7pm and Alicia Jane Turner will join us for the post-concert talk. Two works created on the London Sinfonietta’s Writing the Future composer development scheme. Part of the Southbank Centre's Purcell Sessions.
